Wow, we had a great time learning about Fire Safety this week! We had the privilege to have two different visitors share safety tips and stories with us. Our first visit was Thursday; our classmate, Connor, won a surprise ride on a fire truck. An engine from the Joliet Fire Station picked Connor up at his house and drove him to school. Our class was able to go out in front of the school and watch Connor's big arrival. The lights and sirens were on and he even honked the horn a couple of times! The class had so much fun checking out the different parts of the truck and asking the firemen questions.
Our second visitor came on Friday from the Bolingbrook Fire Department. Mr. Purtell, Bohdan's dad, shared important safety tips and answered questions that were concerning to us. He reviewed all the things we should and should not do in the event of a fire, such as calling 911 during emergencies and stop, drop, and roll. Thank you, Mr. Purtell, for sharing your tips with our class!
